Marvel’s Avengers Reveals Spider-Man’s Costumes

[ad_1]

Marvel’s Avengers reveals several costumes available to wear when Spider-Man swings into the game and joins the roster later this month.

Several skins have been revealed for Spider-Man ahead of his debut in Marvel’s Avengers.

Square Enix unveiled seven different suits on its Marvel’s Avengers developer blog with a brief description behind the inspiration and design for each. “When Amazing Fantasy #15 hit stands in 1962, no one could have predicted that Spider-Man would become a fan favorite Super Hero…much less one of comic’s biggest fashion icons,” the company wrote. “With almost 60 years of history, picking out the perfect outfits for his Marvel’s Avengers debut took lots of thought and planning. Working closely with our friends at Marvel Games, we curated a selection of looks that should satisfy Spidey fans, both young and old.”

The costumes vary from iconic depictions of Spider-Man to more modernized, tech-inspired iterations. Each skin comes with brief descriptions, the creators’ inspirations and explanations behind the creative liberties taken with some designs. For example, with the Noir Suit, the blog states, “One embellishment we made was to incorporate stitched spider iconography into his sweater and jacket to unify the mask with the suit.” Other costumes draw inspiration from comics artists such as Steve Ditko, Gabrielle Dell’Otto and Alex Saviuk. Meanwhile, notable comics that inspired the designs include Web of Spider-Man #100, Amazing Spider-Man #682 and Spider-Man Noir.

Spider-Man has received plenty of attention in the gaming world in recent years, which kicked off with 2018’s PlayStation exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man. That game had a total of 28 unlockable suits, with a further 10 available with the full complement of DLC. It also included its own variations on the Classic Suit, Noir Suit and Spider-Armor Mark III Suit, three costumes that Marvel’s Avengers is putting its own twist on. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Myles Morales launched in 2020, which made 20 suits available for players to wear.

The game’s developer, Crystal Dynamics, also revealed two clips of Spider-Man that show him swinging into action in the Bugle Boy Suit and the Spider-Armor Mark I Suit, respectively. The Marvel’s Avengers developer blog post teased further reveals to come in the lead-up to the character’s debut on Nov. 30.
