Marvel Studios Begins Production on ‘Secret Invasion’ TV Series

Marvel’s Secret Invasion will begin shooting within the next month, this according to actor Christopher McDonald who was talking to The Movie Dweeb in an interview. The Happy Gilmore actor said: “I’m going to come to London to make this thing happen in a month’s time, I think a month and a half time I’ll be there doing it and um I know nothing, I can say nothing because I saw that I signed a NDA so there’s nothing coming forward other than the fact that it’s called Secret Invasion.”

McDonald recently joined a cast that already included Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as Talos plus newcomers to the MCU Emilia ClarkeOlivia Coleman and Kingsley Ben-Adir. Secret Invasion was one of the series announced back in December by Kevin Feige and while it is likely based on the comic of the same name, there are some fundamental differences in the way the Skrulls are portrayed between the comics and the films. While in the comics the Skrulls are most often depicted as straight up antagonists, in the 2019 Captain Marvel film, the Skrulls were shown to be refugees from the Kree’s aggressive expansion and desire to control the universe. How that fundamental difference will affect the series remains to be seen.
