Marvel Studio Provides Update on ‘Iron Man’ Spin-Off ‘Armor Wars’
The MCU may be in a bit of a lull right now, but this short respite will be short-lived with Moon Knight kicking off another run of superpowered adventures at home on Disney+. Another more mysterious project in the streaming sphere is Armor Wars. The series is likely set to come sometime in 2023, but nothing has been 100% confirmed on the scheduling front.
While Production Weekly listed the series as getting the cameras rolling in May of this year, The Direct reports (via Lizzie Hill of My Cosmic Circus) that production is now expected to begin this year in October or November in Atlanta, Georgia.
Armor Wars will take on the legacy of Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark, as Don Cheadle (James “Rhodey” Rhodes a.k.a. War Machine) navigates through a post-Avengers: Endgame MCU. Aside from a brief cameo in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Cheadle has not appeared for Marvel Studios since Endgame, so fans should be excited to see what Rhodey has been up to.
