The Eternals are one of Jack Kirby’s greatest creations. Since their big-screen debut was announced, Marvel has begun pushing them again. As revealed in the movie’s end credit scene, Starfox will play a role in their future films. Also known as Eros, Starfox is the brother of Thanos and has played a small yet important role in the Marvel Universe over the years.
Like all Eternals, Starfox has a variety of powers. Some of these powers are more potent than others and have made him a powerful hero. Whether it be as an Avenger or on his own, Eros can be a devastating opponent.
10 He Has The Power To Teleport
The Eternals are a very interesting group, created to be perfect beings by the Celestials. This has given them a variety of skills and powers. One which is common among all of them is the ability to teleport. Eternals have amazing control over their molecular structure Their ability to control energy means they can transform themselves into energy and use those skills in concert to teleport places.
Starfox has this power just like any other Eternal. While he doesn’t use it very often, it’s an interesting ability in his repertoire that has come in handy in the past.
9 He’s Extremely Intelligent
While this isn’t technically one of his powers, Eros is a very smart person. Part of this is because of his age. Eros was one of the first Eternals born on Titan. Both of his parents were extremely intelligent, and even the lowest IQ among the Eternals is greater than the most intelligent human. Eros has learned things that are beyond most humans’ comprehension.
He was exposed to technology that was eons more advanced than anything on Earth and learned a lot from his father. Intelligence like his can come in handy in all kinds of situations.
8 He’s Immortal
Sometimes, superpowered beings give themselves grandiose names that don’t actually describe them well. That’s not the case with the Eternals. They are actually immortal; their natural lifespan is unending, and disease will never affect them. There’s nothing hyperbolic about calling them Eternals since that perfectly describes them.
Eros is as immortal as any other Eternal. Like the others, he also has a powerful healing factor that allows him to survive even the most grievous injuries. He’s been alive for millennia and, barring any catastrophic situations, will live forever.
7 He Can Control Gravitons To A Certain Extent
This is another ability that all Eternals have to an extent. Eternals can fly because they have the power to manipulate gravitons. This gives them limited control over gravity around them. Eros has a greater control over gravitons than other Eternals because of the nature of some of his other powers.
Eternals manipulate gravitons the same way a telekinetic would move an object with their mind. Some Eternals aren’t as proficient with their psionic abilities, so they can only make themselves fly. Eros is much better with the mental power side of things, so his control of gravitons is greater than many others of his kind.
6 He Has Super Strength
The Marvel Universe is full of strong heroes and villains, and the Eternals fit in well. One of the powers that all Eternals share is super strength. Most Eternals can lift about thirty tons, with the stronger ones like Gilgamesh, Ikaris, and Thanos being much stronger. Eros is actually weaker than the average Eternal, but he’s still much stronger than the vast majority of humans.
Eros can lift about fifteen tons, putting him on par with someone like Spider-Man. This has allowed him to fight it out with some of the most formidable foes in the cosmos.
5 He’s Invulnerable
Eros was always a strange choice for Avengers membership. He’s not the most martial Eternal, but he doesn’t really have to be. Like all Eternals, Eros can take a lot of hits in a fight. The Celestials needed the Eternals to be able to take ridiculous amounts of punishment, so each of them is invulnerable to just about all harm.
Eros can take way more damage than meets the eye. While he isn’t indestructible, the amount of punishment it takes to actually phase him makes him a pretty efficient tank.
4 He Can Manipulate Matter
The number of powers that all Eternals share can sometimes get ridiculous. For example, all Eternals can manipulate matter to a certain extent. While Sersi is best known for her utility with this ability, it’s something that all Eternals share as a power.
Eros is in the middle of Eternals when it comes to matter manipulation. It’s not his most powerful ability, but it’s not his weakest. His expertise with his psionic powers helps him with it, as he has great concentration. It’s a nice surprise he can use against enemies that aren’t ready for the multitude of powers that Eternals can bring to the table.
3 He Can Control Cosmic Energy
The ability to channel cosmic energy is a devastating power. Of all of Thanos’s powers, it’s one of his most potent. Yet, it’s also another power that all Eternals can use to a certain extent. Thanos has greatly enhanced his energy manipulation, but several Eternals get close to him in this regard.
Eros isn’t one of them, but he’s still vastly powerful. Like most Eternals, he can fire blasts of energy from his eyes and manipulate the energy that other cosmic-powered heroes and villains use. It’s another power that’s helped by his skill with his psionic powers.
2 He’s One Of The Most Powerful Mental Talents The Eternals Have
Earth is full of powerful psionic talents, with heroes like Jean Grey taking the lead when it comes to power levels. All of the Eternals have psionic powers, but not all have the same level of proficiency. They can read the thoughts of unguarded minds, communicate telepathically, and manipulate energy and matter around them with their minds. Eros is one of the most powerful mental talents among his people.
Eros is known for his ability to manipulate others mentally. While his mental powers aren’t the whole reason for this, he’s practiced his telepathy and other related abilities more than just about any other.
1 He Can Stimulate The Pleasure Centers Of Those Around Him
Eros’s mental abilities are great, but what puts him into the upper echelon of mind-controlling heroes and villains is his ability to stimulate the pleasure centers of those around him. This is unrelated to his telepathic skills and is not a power that he shares with other Eternals. Over the years, Eros has used this power to defuse many combat situations.
This power also makes him a rather problematic hero, as he’s used it on women in the past to get them to sleep with him. So, while it’s definitely his best power, it’s also the one that makes him a questionable person at best.
