How to Get Through the Prologue

Once the opening cutscene ends, Lost Judgment introduces players to the game’s tweaked tailing mechanics. Follow Kosuke, who soon meets with a woman. Adjust the camera and wait for the perfect moment to snap a photo. Kosuke then continues on. Keep following him, and eventually, Yagami gets a combat tutorial. Continue following Kosuke. Soon, Yagami must snap a photo of him at an ATM. Wait for Kosuke to lean in to get the perfect photo.

Kosuke then enters the gambling hall, and once that’s done, look up at the second story windows towards the left to find an open window. Enter the alley and look at the air conditioning system on the left. Scale up the air conditioner and go around the outside of the building, following the prompts where they come up.

Inside, Yagami fights two men and get a tutorial in using EX actions. Lost Judgment then introduces its stealth mechanics. Go through the door by the window and listen to the conversation. Turn to Yagami’s left and go through the door to find a man sleeping in a chair. Sneak towards the glowing item on the table, taking care not to bump into anything. If Yagami gets caught, it’s game over.

After grabbing the key, open the locked door on the opposite side of the room from the entrance. Take a left and go through the door to get access to the stairwell. Head up and pick the lock when prompted. Enter the cover point and throw a coin to distract the guard. Sneak up behind him and knock him out. Go through the door.

Yagami confronts Kosuke and a fight ensues. He’s genuinely pretty easy. Switch into Tiger style and beat him down. Once that’s over, a group of men arrives to the fight. Learn about EX boost and defeat the men. Finally, chase down Yosuke, following the prompts and directions when they pop up.

Once the cutscene ends, enter the Genda Law Office and talk to Genda. Once that’s done, go outside and talk to Kaito. Yagami and Kaito head to the bar where Kosuke has been scamming people. For the fight inside, use Crane style initially and then switch to Tiger when there’s only one enemy remaining. After the fight, Yagami ends up back outside the Genda Law Office. Head to the Yagami Detective Agency and talk to Kaito.

What to Do After Arriving in Yokohama’s Isezaki Ijincho District

After the cutscene, Yagami and Kaito arrive in Isezaki Ijincho. Head towards Yokohama 99 by heading south from the station. Certain routes are blocked off, and along the way, Yagami encounters a group of students from Seiryo High School bullying a café worker. Finish the tutorial for Snake style and take the students down.

Continue heading towards Yokohama 99, where Sugiura and Tsukumo briefs their compatriots no the case, explaining it’s about bullying at Seiryo High School. Afterwards, go to Kyoinro, which is a restaurant in Chinatown. Do not drink before going inside, as any level of intoxication will make a future mission much more annoying. Inside, the player meets Yuzo Okuda, the chairman of Seiryo High School. When prompted, select any of the conversation options.

Once the dinner concludes, everyone returns to Yokohama 99. However, as Yagami tries to leave, Sugiura and Tsukomo give him a skateboard and ask him to get to Ebisu Pawn to buy a limited-edition Love Star figure. Follow the road using the skateboard. If Yagami has any intoxication level, this will be incredibly difficult, as he’ll weave a lot. A cutscene starts after Yagami gets to Ebisu Pawn, and once it ends, Thrifty Yakuza attacks him. Switch to Tiger style and take down Thrifty Yakuza, who isn’t particularly tough.

After the battle, Yagami teleports back to Yokohama 99. When that finishes, rest on the couch at Yokohama 99. When Yagami wakes up, he immediately talks to Tsukumo. Put on the Work Clothes disguise and another cutscene triggers, bringing the crew to Seiryo High School.

What to Do at Seiryo High School

Walk to the various flags on the map to plant the hidden cameras. Eventually, Yagami finds a janitor smoking in the stairwell. In investigation mode, examine his water bottle. If the player circles around to the left, they’ll also be able to see he’s smoking a cigarette, which isn’t allowed on school property. Exit investigation mode and talk to the janitor. Select “I’ll give you 1,000 yen to move.” The man will leave.

Continue following the prompts until Yagami and Kaito meet back up and go to class 2-2. Sawa-sensei confronts them. For a quick end to the conversation, select “So this is how you treat people.” Otherwise, “The chairman hired us” also works, though players will have to mention the chairman is named Okuda.

After the conversation ends, head to the the gym to meet back up with Sugiura and Tsukumo. A long cutscene starts. Once it finishes, go back to class 2-2. Yagami enters investigation mode again. He can examine a girl sitting on the right-side of the classroom for a hint to a future question. Look at the girl who was being bullied. Examine her textbook to get her name as Mami Koda. Examine her hand and her neck. She looks up at Yagami. End the investigation and another cutscene starts.

Head up to the Chariman’s office on the third floor. When prompted to make a selection, choose “The onlookers are the problem.” Everyone talks about the issue, and eventually the detectives of Yokohama 99 collects their spy cameras. However, once Yagami arrives at the second floor staircase, a student and a teacher confront him about the cameras, forcing the detective to jump out of the window to avoid arrest.

How to Finish Up at Seiryo High School

Grab the pick-up on the left-side of the screen to get a Toughness Light. Then, shimmy the opposite direction and jump up to the pipe. Go across the pipe and then drop down. Soon, Yagami enter stealth mode. However, there’s no reason to stay in this. Start running and go up the ladder on the left at the end of the walkway. After the first ladder, there’s a Tauriner on Yagami’s left. Climb the second ladder to end up at the very top of the school. Run towards Tsukumo’s drone. Pick up the Staminan X and then go through the window.

A true stealth segment begins, with security looking for Yagami. Go to the first glowing square and look at the door to the classroom and then the security officer. Follow after the two officers and look at them from the cover point. Tsukumo suggests using the roof instead, so go back up the stairs. At the top, throw a smoke bomb at the security guard and move past him through the door.

Yagami is now be on the roof, which has several security guards. They’re not really looking for Yagami, so walk past them. The guard closest to the exit door sometimes turns around. The easiest way to make sure he doesn’t see Yagami is to go right after he turns his back.

Once back inside, pick up the smokescreen powder and then head to the cover point. Either hit the guard with a smoke bomb or use a coin to distract him. Then, once Yagami is down the stairs, walk along the path until Yagami comes upon another cover point. Use either a smoke bomb or a coin on the guard, though the former is preferable. Sprint down the hall to class 2-2.

The bully students from before catch Yagami, but this time they’ve brought back-up. For this battle, initially start with either Crane or Snake and aim for the weaker students. Snake ends up being a slightly better option, since it allows Yagami to deflect blows. Students are particularly susceptible to EX Surrender, so exploit that where possible. Once only the strong student, Ya-kun, is left, use either Tiger or Snake on him. Eventually, the game teaches the player how to do Mortal Reversals. With that technique in hand, the student should go down pretty easily.

Lost Judgment then teleports Yagami outside of Seiryo High School. Head to Yokohama 99 for another cutscene and take a rest on the couch. In the morning, go back to Seiryo High School. Another long cutscene  starts, and once it finishes, Chapter 1, “Black Sheep” ends.
