Loki’s Mobius Finally Gets His Jet Ski in Luca-Inspired Fan Art

Loki fan art drawn in the style of Pixar’s Luca sees Mobius finally getting the jet ski ride he deserves, a dream he’s had throughout the series.

Fanart of Loki character Mobius by artist and illustrator Lyle Cruse sees the TVA agent finally getting the jet ski he always wanted.

The art, posted on Cruse’s Instagram, depicts the series’ main characters Loki, Mobius and Sylvie riding on a jet ski (with Miss Minutes detailed on it, no less) in a Luca-inspired crossover piece. “I’ve been a mischievous scamp,” Cruse said in the caption. “I saw an opportunity, so I made a thing. Disney, Pixar, Marvel Studios, and Lyle Style presents: Loki, a story of a by-the-books sort of chap, a boy that likes to talk, and his variant.” Since its posting, the art has gone viral, receiving over 100,000 likes and over 1,000 comments.

Agent Mobius, played by Owen Wilson, has expressed a desire to ride a jet ski throughout the series, calling the vehicle a “beautiful union of form and function.” Though Mobius has never actually ridden a jet ski, his wish to has been something that inspired fans to see the character achieve his dreams by the end of the series, or at the very least represent it through art or Loki-inspired cosplay.

The art is stylized after the Pixar movie Luca, which is set in a seaside town on the Italian Riviera. The film is a coming-of-age story where the titular character balances growing up alongside the secret that he’s a sea monster from the world below the water’s surface.

The reveal in Episode 3, “Lamentis” that the TVA was entirely composed of memory-wiped Variants implies some consequences for the agents, with Mobius included. When Mobius confronted Ravonna Renslayer about his past, he stated that if he could go anywhere, it would be wherever he was from before the TVA. His shift in allegiance resulted in him getting pruned and sent to The Void at the end of time, where he assisted Loki and Sylvie in their mission to find out who was behind the TVA.

Created by Michael Waldron and directed by Kate Herron, Loki stars Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, Tara Strong as Miss Minutes, Eugene Cordero as Casey, Sasha Lane as Hunter C-20 and Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, with Richard E. Grant and Jack Veal. New episodes premiere Wednesdays on Disney+.
