Legends of Tomorrow Puts Sara’s Healing Factor to the Test

[ad_1]

Legends of Tomorrow’s Sara Lance tests the limits of her new healing factor as the team visits the wild west.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 6, Episode 8, “Stressed Western,” which aired Sunday on The CW.

Sara Lance’s time amongst the stars has come to an end after a successful rescue mission by Mick, Gary and Kayla. After a rough morning, she was ready to tackle the timeline and get back to what she does best. However, her time in space left her with a new human-alien hybrid clone body, as well as a special healing factor attached to it. While she tried to keep her new skill a secret, a mission to the wild west put it to the test as the Legends fought a rage-eating alien in this week’s Legends of Tomorrow.

After receiving breakfast in bed from her fiancée Ava, Sara let her know what happened while she was on Bishop’s planet. Although the news shocked Ava, she accepted that everything will be fine. Sara wanted to keep her new form a secret from the Legends, hoping they could have one normal mission before letting the news out.

The mission took the Legends of Tomorrow to a small town called Fist City, which was historically known as the wildest of the wild west. Upon arrival, they found this to be far from the truth, as the saloon was friendly and sober with a list of rules hanging from the ceiling. They came to learn that an alien creature, a Haverak, was hunting any townsfolk that let their anger and rage get the better of them. The Haverak could be controlled with the use of a whistle that hung on the neck of the new deputy, Levi Stapleton.

The team created a plan to steal the whistle off of Stapleton during a square dance in the saloon. Zari tried to remove it from his neck but failed, leading Sara to challenge Stapleton to a duel. The duo agreed to take ten paces before shooting, but Stapleton went against his word and shot Sara in the back of the head. The captain fell to her knees as she took what would be her last breath, but with her new healing factor, the bullet wound in her forehead closed up. Sara marched towards Stapleton, who emptied his bullets into her, causing no harm. Stapleton denied Sara’s win and got angry, summoning the Haverak to eat him.

Seeing her fiancée riddled with bullets still worried Ava, and she also noticed a few more differences in Sara’s behavior. For starters, Sara was never an avid fan of milkshakes or cherries but since being cloned, she’s grown an almost addictive fascination with them. Ava asked Gary if he knew of any aliens that had such a craving and Gary brought up Wafters, which could be what Sara’s DNA is mixed with but it is still unclear if that is true. Until then, Sara appears to be immortal with no side effects or drawbacks, which comes in handy for someone who has now died twice.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan, Olivia Swann, Jes Macallan, Adam Tsekhman, Shayan Sobhian, Lisseth Chavez and Raffi Barsoumian. Season 6 airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
