Knives Out 2 Set Photos Welcome Ethan Hawke to the Cast

New images from Rian Johnson’s Knives Out 2 confirm that Ethan Hawke has joined the cast of the murder mystery film.

New Knives Out 2 behind-the-scene images reveal Ethan Hawke has joined the cast of the film.

Daily Mail posted photos of Hawke on the film’s Greece set dressed in a blue and white pinstripe suit. One photo shows him feeding Dave Bautista water through what appears to be a metallic squirt gun. Others feature him walking on a boat dock with Kate Hudson, the latter wearing a hat and summer dress, as well as interacting with Daniel Craig and Leslie Odom Jr.

In addition to Hawke and the aforementioned actors, the sequel to Rian Johnson’s 2019 murder-mystery has already acquired a sizable, talented cast. Craig, who will be reprising his role as detective Benoit Blanc, will be joined by Edward Norton, Kathryn Hahn, Janelle Monáe and Jessica Henwick. The film, which recently began production, will release exclusively to Netflix after the company spent $450 million on the rights to Knives Out 2 and a future third movie directed by Johnson.

Hawke, whose recent filmography includes the 2020 films Tesla and Cut Throat City, will next appear in Antoine Fuqua’s The Guilty, marking his fourth collaboration with the director after Training DayBrooklyn’s Finest and The Magnificent Seven. He will also star alongside Oscar Isaac in Marvel’s upcoming Moon Knight series, though the identity of Hawke’s antagonist character has yet to be confirmed. A photo of Hawke on the set of Moon Knight was taken in May, showing the actor with a beard, suit and cane.

Written and directed by Rian Johnson, Knives Out 2 stars Daniel Craig as Detective Benoit Blanc, with Edward Norton, Dave Bautista, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson, Madelyn Cline and Jessica Yu Li Henwick in undisclosed roles. The film does not yet have a release date.
