Kingdom’s Biggest Hero Isn’t Optimus Prime

[ad_1]

In Transformers: War for Cybertron — Kingdom, who are the show’s most important heroes? It’s not Optimus Prime or Megatron.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Transformers: War for Cybertron – Kingdom, now streaming on Netflix.

There are many heroes who come to the fore in Transformers: War for Cybertron – Kingdom, risking their lives to get the Allspark back to reboot Cybertron. Of course, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee stand tall for the Autobots, while Optimus Primal and Airazor make waves for the Maximals. Ironically, to get the job done as Galvatron schemes, the Decepticons and Predacons have to switch sides as well. However, it’s not Megatron and Optimus who end up being the show’s most important heroes.

Dinobot Returns the Matrix of Leadership

The Predacon raptor has a storied history, once attempting to turn on Predacon Megatron (the Decepticon leader’s descendant) in the future as the war ravaged Cybertron. Blackarachnia would stop Dinobot in this dystopian timeline, though, and in time, there’d be uneasy peace as the faction left the dying planet, went through the Dead Universe and ended up on Earth.

Here, Dinobot is loyal again to the Predacon cause in the name of survival, but quickly realizes with old Megatron meeting Predacon Megatron, they’re on a self-destructive path. He even overhears Starscream speaking of Megatron’s treachery as both teams form an alliance, which convinces Dinobot to turn on his leaders. It’s similar to when Jetfire switched from the Decepticons to the Autobots in the previous chapters.

It culminates in a brutal fight with Decepticon Megatron. However, with his rotating spear, Dinobot is too much to handle, coming off like a true samurai. He’s able to slice up the villain and steal the Matrix of Leadership. Sadly, Dinobot gets mortally wounded by Predacon Megatron, but he does escape to give the Matrix to Optimus. The Autobot boss is grateful as this will help him find the Allspark so they can return to reboot Cybertron. As he dies, the Maximals honor Dinobot as well. They’ve always respected, and at times feared, his prowess, never realizing he’d give them to key to stave off extinction.

Blackarachnia Gives Cybertron a Second Chance

Blackarachnia trusts no one, and it takes her a while to understand Starscream’s motives for backstabbing, as they’re always selfish. However, she’s also distrusting of the Megatrons, reconciling Dinobot’s death to eventually flip on them. She allies with Starscream, but her plan is much more devious, as she encourages him to fight the leader when the time comes.

It results in Megatron’s energon-infused blood leaking, which she collects to kickstart the second part of her master plan. When Optimus Primal gets into the lair where the Allspark is being held, he battles Megatron and flings the Golden Disk away. Galvatron gave this disk to Predacon Megatron so that he could, in turn, give it to Decepticon Megatron and begin the plan to destroy Unicron.

However, no one can read the disk as it only recognizes Megatron’s signature. With the blood and Disk, the Blackarachnia (a tech genius) ends up hacking it for Starscream to read. He’s bombarded by info about Unicron consuming worlds and being the dark overlord of their future. This is the catalyst for him to propose all factions unite against Galvatron and Nemesis Prime, who want the Allspark to attack Unicron, not caring if they leave Cybertron to die. In other words, Starscream’s enlightenment is due to Blackarachnia’s quick thinking and foresight. In addition, she hacks the Nemesis ship so Megatron can’t fire on the Autobots’ ark, allowing the heroes to get home so they can team up and preserve their future.
