Kevin Can F**k Himself’s WEIRDEST Romance Is Patty and Kurt

Kevin Can F**k Himself makes it seem Allison and Kevin are embroiled in the series’ weirdest romance, but the truth reveals it’s another couple.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Kevin Can F**K Himself Season 1, Episode 3, “We’re Selling Washing Machines,” now available on AMC.

Kevin Can F**k Himself initially makes it seem like Allison (Annie Murphy) and Kevin (Eric Petersen) are embroiled in the AMC series’ weirdest romance. They just don’t match up at all, and it’s made even worse by Kevin constantly neglecting his wife’s needs in order to drink beers and worship football with the guys. However, the title of kookiest romance doesn’t go to them — it actually goes to Patty (Mary Hollis Inboden) and Kurt (Sean Clements).

Fans haven’t learned much about Patty’s past other than she constantly hangs out with her brother, Neil, who’s Kevin’s best friend. But she’s basically one of the guys, and more of her secrets are coming to light as Allison makes the time to genuinely be her friend.

Allison needs Patty because she wants her to sell her drugs after the bombshell revelation that Patty’s a secret pill dealer in Worcester. But the ladies actually do bond over how they secretly hate the men they’re surrounded by, stumped by why they never amounted to more in life other than being crutches for the guys. However, in a flashback, when Patty first connects with her pharmacist dealer, Terrance, there’s a shot of a worker in the store, Kurt, eyeing her. She doesn’t say anything, but it’s clear he’s got a crush on her, which is strange because, in the present, they’re in a relationship. It turns out to be a pretty unconventional one, however, as they basically just eat healthy food together.

This makes her more depressed as she speed-eats rushing home in the car, and wallows in self-pity at her hair salon, wondering if she’s really a loser like Allison. Kurt politely asks for sex and intimacy, but as Patty makes excuses, it’s apparent she turns him down a lot. This makes it appears as if sit’s a partnership of convenience, evidenced by Patty always using his car. Still, despite their different personalities, as Patty opens up and shares insight, Allison believes they can make it work.

Everything comes to a head, however, when the pharmacy is raided and Terrance is arrested. He doesn’t rat out his buyers like Patty, but with the stash of generics still at the store, Patty might have an in using Kurt. He’s wrapped around her finger, and seeing as he proposed, she can clearly control him. This means that if he isn’t scared or hurt by Patty’s side-hustle, he could become her supplier in what would be an intriguing partnership moving forward.

Created by Valerie Armstrong, Kevin Can F**K Himself stars Annie Murphy, Mary Hollis Inboden and Eric Petersen. The series airs Sundays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.
