Kenobi’s Sith Warrior Tease Could Be a Huge Star Wars Disney+ Debut

Concept art for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series depicts an Inquisitor that looks suspiciously like Jedi: Fallen Order’s main antagonist. But how could that be?

The Sith warrior featured in the Obi-Wan Kenobi sizzle reel has created a buzz among Star Wars fans. To many, this Inquisitor bears a striking resemblance to the Second Sister, the antagonist of the Jedi: Fallen Order video game.

If it is the Second Sister, then it will be the first instance of a character created for a game making the jump to live-action Star Wars. There is a lot of speculation about the identity of this figure, but whether she is actually the Second Sister is certainly up for debate.

The Second Sister, known formerly as the Jedi Padawan Trilla Suduri, was captured and tortured into submission following Order 66. She developed a hatred of the Jedi, and of her former Master, Cere Junda, who gave up Trilla’s location while being tortured herself. During the game, Trilla ruthlessly pursues protagonist Cal Kestis, as they are both vying for the same prize: a Jedi holocron containing the names of Force-sensitive children across the galaxy. While Cal is interested in rebuilding the Jedi Order, Trilla obviously has more nefarious plans for the holocron, which is ultimately destroyed to protect the children in question.

Knowing all of that, it is easy to assume, based on the similarities in character design, that the Inquisitor in the concept art is Trilla. They look incredibly similar, and the story of a Jedi Padawan being warped by the Dark Side and turning against their Master would fit fairly well within the confines of Obi-Wan’s self-imposed exile. The Inquisitors will clearly play a role in the Disney+ series, especially with the rumored appearance of the Fifth Brother, assumed to be Sung Kang’s character.

Actor Elizabeth Grullón, who portrayed Trilla in Fallen Order, acknowledged in an Instagram story the visual similarities, but neither confirmed nor denied her involvement in Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, she did re-post reactions from fans who wondered whether this was the character’s big return.

Still, speculation that the character in the Kenobi concept art is Trilla runs into an unfortunate snag: Anyone who played through the Jedi: Fallen Order and defeated Trilla’s final boss fight knows she struck down by Darth Vader after she asked Cal to “avenge them,” seemingly returning to the Light in her final moments. There was no confirmation of her death, however, because Cal was promptly chased out of the area by a very scary, and very unbeatable, Vader. However, it doesn’t exactly bode well for Trilla fans that the last time she was seen was  in the process of turning against Vader, and then getting promptly axed in the back for her trouble.

It is absolutely valid to look at the concept art and see similarities to the Second Sister. But, as exciting as it would be for Trilla to have survived Jedi: Fallen Order, it seems unlikely she’s about to show up in Obi-Wan Kenobi five years after her apparent death, especially considering Vader “disposed” of her for considering treachery.

That said, many Star Wars characters have come back from worse wounds than a lightsaber to the back.
