James Bond’s iconic Aston Martin DB5, complete with unique engine audio, wheels and more, is headed to Rocket League for a limited time.
James Bond is set to hit the Soccar pitch in Rocket League — or rather his iconic Aston Martin DB5..
A new trailer sees 007’s 1963 Aston Martin DB5 showing off its rocket boost and Octane hitbox modifications in a cinematic fashion fitting for Bond. Players can claim the car for themselves beginning July 29 for 1,100 Credits. Act fast, though, as Rocket League noted the Aston Martin DB5 will only be available for a limited time.
Included in the bundle is Silver Birch Paint Finish resembling the Aston Martin’s original color, unique engine audio, wheels and a Reel Life Decal. These items can only be equipped exclusively onto the Aston Martin DB5, however, with the car itself unable to be customized with all item types. Should none of that catch your eye, more Bond vehicles are expected to boost into Rocket League later this year.
Bond’s Aston Martin made its first appearance in the 1964 movie Goldfinger, featuring a bevy of gadgetry before reappearing in Thunderball a year later. The car would pop up again in GoldenEye in 1995, stripped of its gadgets before showing up again two years later in Tomorrow Never Dies, 1999’s The World Is Not Enough and 2006’s Casino Royale, where it was owned by the film’s villain. The Aston Martin’s latest appearance was in 2015’s Spectre in Q’s workshop undergoing repairs after being destroyed in the previous film, Skyfall.
Bond’s ride isn’t the only vehicle to drive off the big screen and into Rocket League, as June saw the addition of three vehicles from the Fast & Furious franchise make it onto the Soccar pitch. That update included Dominic Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger G/T and Brian O’Conner’s 1999 Nissan Skyline from 2 Fast 2 Furious, as well as the rocket-powered Pontiac from the franchise’s latest film, F9.
