IRON CAT returns in new limited series from Jed MacKay and Pere Pérez

[ad_1]

During his acclaimed and fan-favorite Black Cat run, writer Jed MacKay had the titular feline felon don her own Iron Man style suit of armor dubbed Iron Cat. Designed by artist C.F. Villa the suit debuted in in Black Cat #11 and quickly stole the hearts of fans. Although Felicia may have surrendered the armor to Tony Stark, it appears it wasn’t the last we’ve seen of Iron Cat as today at ComicsPRO the publisher announced a new 5-issue Iron Cat limited series with MacKay returning as writer and joined by artist Pere Pérez. No additional members of the creative team were mentioned in the official press release.

Since it’s not Felicia under the armor, the big mystery is who is the new Iron Cat? As MacKay teased in the official press release:

“Curiosity may have killed the cat, but as always, satisfaction brings it back. It was with a heavy heart that we said goodbye to the ongoing BLACK CAT series last year, but now what would have been the next arc in that series lives on in its own right–IRON CAT! The fan-favorite Iron Cat armor returns… but who’s in it this time? It certainly isn’t Felicia Hardy, as the Iron Cat comes gunning for her right off the bat. It’s a rare pleasure to have a second chance to pick up a story that you thought lost, and I’m really excited for people to rejoin Pere and I on another Black Cat adventure!”

Pérez, meanwhile, expressed his excitement about working on the limited series.

“I’ve been reading Jed’s BLACK CAT series for a while now, and it’s great to be a part of this storyline. I mean, there’s heists, chases, fights, Iron Man… You can’t go wrong with that. We’ll also see how some parts of Felicia’s past come back to haunt her. Felicia and Tony’s worlds are pretty much opposite, so you can imagine how crazy things can get if you make those two work together. Can’t wait to show everybody what we are cooking.”

The first issue will sport a main cover by Pérez as well a variants by Skan and Ron Lim and an “Action Figure Variant” by John Tyler Christopher. Look for Iron Cat #1 to arrive this June.
