Born among the members of a theatre troupe in the Muromachi-era capital, Inu-oh was cursed with bodily deformities. Shunned by those around him, he was forced to hide his face with a gourd-shaped mask. One day, Inu-oh met a young traveling musician by the name of Tomona, who was cursed with blindness by the Taira family. They were fast friends before they knew it, trading their dances and songs. Tomona played the Biwa while Inu-oh stomped his feet and danced. In that moment, it seemed they were in perfect sync, the world belonging to them and them alone.

Now, Inu-oh hopes to forge a bold new destiny for himself with his dancing, while Tomona seeks to find the truth behind his curse, and rock hard enough to shake hell itself. These two friends will have to bring each other’s talents to the fullest to survive in a turbulent world, become top entertainers, and make the crowd go wild. Just who or what could be waiting for them when they finally reach the top?
