We had the pleasure of interviewing Chiitan, also stylized as Chiitan☆, a Japanese mascot formerly self-declared as the unofficial representative of the city of Susaki. Chiitan is a self-described “0-year-old fairy baby” otter. In our interview, we delve into Chiitan’s adventures and the experience of being an iconic mascot.
1. Tell everyone about who you are!
🔶日本のマスコットのちぃたん⭐️です。 秋葉原に住んでいます。 ジャッカスに憧れています。ジャッカスに出たい。(I’m Chiitan, Japan’s mascot star. I live in Akihabara. I admire Jackass. I want to appear on Jackass.)
What is it like being a mascot? Favorite part about this?
🔶私は永遠に24時間マスコットです。(I’m a mascot 24/7, forever.)
What has been your favorite adventure so far?
🔶泥遊びです (Mud play.)
Some of your stunts are dangerous! We see you often falling! How do you stay safe doing these crazy stunts?
🔶妖精は防御力が強くタフなので何も問題ありません。 アクション映画の主人公のようなものなので絶対に死にません。(Fairies have strong defense and toughness, so there’s no problem at all. I’m like the protagonist of an action movie, so I’ll never die.)
Biggest success story?
🔶警察から逃げ切りました。(I escaped from the police.)

Goals for this year?
🔶アメリカに行ってプロレスラーとして活躍することです。 私は4月にフィラデルフィアで開催されるレッスルマニアに行きたいと願っています。 (To go to America and become a professional wrestler. I hope to attend WrestleMania in Philadelphia in April.)
