DC architect Joshua Williamson alludes to the surprise appearance of a familiar face from DC lore as Infinite Frontier heads into Act 2.
Infinite Frontier is resurrecting another forgotten DC character, but which one?
Writer Joshua Williamson teased his plans for the DC Multiverse in an interview with GamesRadar. He claimed there are hints scattered around Infinite Frontier and related books, which will give viewers an idea of where the overarching story is heading. Expanding on this point, Williamson singled out “a character that hasn’t been used in a really long time that we’re bringing back.”
During the interview, Williamson suggested the mystery character is connected in some way to the various Crisis events throughout the years, with him specifically stating he has “been re-reading Crisis on Infinite Earths, Infinite Crisis, Final Crisis” in preparation for the character’s return.
It was recently announced a Justice League Incarnate miniseries would spin out of the events of Infinite Frontier. The book will star Thomas Wayne, President Superman and various other characters from the DC Multiverse as they go up against the Apokoliptian warlord Darkseid.
Infinite Frontier also marks the second return of Roy Harper and the long-awaited reinstatement of the Justice Society of America into the wider DC canon. This inclusive approach towards all facets of DC history is reflective of Williamson’s “cherry-picking” philosophy when it comes to continuity.
DC’s Infinite Frontier concludes with Issue #6 on Sept. 7. It is written by Joshua Williamson, penciled and inked by Xermanico, with colors from Romulo Fajardo Jr.
