In Spite of Pending Sale, The CW Orders ‘Gotham Knights’ Pilot

According to The Hollywood Reporter, despite recent concerns about The CW’s prospective sale, the network has been moving through with new programming, including the Supernatural and Walker prequels, as well as a pilot order for Gotham Knights. The CW continues its practice of introducing new DC shows to its lineup every year with the addition of this series from the makers of Batwoman. Given that many of their existing Arrowverse-based DC shows appear to be coming to an end, Gotham Knights is expected to be one of the series that will enhance their DC material once more.

It’s been a few months since The CW announced that a Gotham Knights series would be developed, but whatever happens with The CW’s alleged fragile status, this official pilot order appears to signal that if the network is sold to a new owner, they will be taking over a lot of potential shows in various stages of development. Gotham Knights’ pilot features a number of Arrowverse alumni, including Greg Berlanti and the Batwoman team of Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux, and Natalie Abrams, implying that the show will stay within the same standards as the other DC series on The CW.

Are you interested in another Batwoman quality show based in a non-Batman centric Gotham City? Maybe Az will watch it for us…?
