Horror-influenced metal band Ice Nine Kills and Z2 Comics share an exclusive preview of their upcoming original graphic novel Inked in Blood.
The popular metal band Ice Nine Kills is teaming up with Z2 Comics for an original graphic novel tying in with their latest studio album, bringing the band’s cinematic storytelling to a new medium.
Titled Ice Nine Kills: Inked in Blood and tying into The Silver Scream, the graphic novel is written by band lead singer Spencer Charnas and Steve Foxe and illustrated by Phillip Sevy and Andres Esparza. Following a troubled teenager that defends her favorite frontman accused of heinous crimes, the girl quickly finds herself in a deadly game with a copycat serial killer. CBR has an exclusive preview from the graphic novel, which is available to order now, along with a limited edition silver vinyl for The Silver Scream and a VHS-style slipcase.
“As a horror enthusiast, collecting and reading comic books has always been a huge part of my love for the genre. When the chance came up to create our own graphic novel with Z2, we jumped at the opportunity,” Charnas told CBR. “The book extends Ice Nine Kills into a new medium that fits perfectly with the storytelling our fans have grown accustomed to.”
“Carving out the story of Inked in Blood has been a slasher-fanatic’s dream since day one. Anyone who has listened to The Silver Scream knows how much reverence for the genre INK possesses, and that shared pool of bloody horror touchstones meant we all started on the same page when it came to creating Heather’s story and weaving it into some of the big plans INK has around the corner,” Foxe explained. “Bringing Andres and Phil onboard made it that much easier, since both come with hefty gorehound bonafides of their own. Both INK diehards and slasher fans who’ve yet to hear any of their songs should find a lot to appreciate in the book.”
Written by Spencer Charnas and Steve Foxe and illustrated by Phillip Sevy and Andres Esparza, Ice Nine Kills: Inked in Blood is available to order now through Z2 Comics.
