Amazon Prime Video announces the series premiere date for I Know What You Did Last Summer with a batch of first-look photos.
Amazon Prime Video confirmed the series premiere date for I Know What You Did Last Summer.
Shortly after being given a nebulous fall premiere window, the streamer announced that the first four episodes of I Know What You Did Last Summer will arrive on Oct. 15. After that, the remaining four episodes will arrive weekly every Friday, culminating with the season finale on Nov. 12.
Based on the 1973 novel of the same name by Lois Duncan, I Know What You Did Last Summer will follow a group of teenagers who are hunted by a mysterious killer one year after they accidentally hit — and seemingly kill — a pedestrian with their car and swear each other to secrecy. In 1997, the novel was adapted as a film that spawned two sequels: 1998’s I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and 2006’s I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer.
Amazon’s TV reboot is written and executive produced by Sara Goodman, known for her work on AMC’s adaptation of Vertigo Comics’ Preacher. “The best horror franchises always have another scare coming, and this I Know What You Did Last Summer series from Sara Goodman is a perfectly twisted update to the iconic slasher movie,” Amazon Studios Co-Head of Television and Chief Operating Officer Albert Cheng said in October 2020. “Any way you slice it, our global Prime Video customers will love this modern take on the fan-favorite film.”

In addition to the premiere date announcement, Amazon released the following Season 1 photos and synopsis:
One year after the fatal car accident that haunted their graduation night, a group of teenagers find themselves bound together by a dark secret and stalked by a brutal killer. As they try to piece together who’s after them, they reveal the dark side of their seemingly perfect town—and themselves. Everyone is hiding something, and uncovering the wrong secret could be deadly.
In January 2021, I Know What You Did Last Summer confirmed its cast, which includes Madison Iseman, Brianne Tju, Fiona Rene, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Cassie Beck, Ezekiel Goodman, Brooke Bloom, Bill Heck and Sonya Balmores.
I Know What You Did Last Summer premieres Oct. 15 on Amazon Prime Video.
