Hulu’s How I Met Your Mother spinoff, How I Met Your Father, adds Josh Peck (Turner & Hooch) and Ashley Reyes (American Gods) in recurring roles.
How I Met Your Father, Hulu’s upcoming spinoff of CBS’ How I Met Your Mother, has found two new recurring cast members in Turner & Hooch‘s Josh Peck and American Gods‘ Ashley Reyes.
According to Deadline, Peck is set to play the character of Drew, the “handsome vice principal at Jesse’s (Chris Lowell) elementary school.” Meanwhile, Reyes will play Hannah, Sid’s (Suraj Sharma) girlfriend. Described as “smart, practical” and “devoted to her job,” Sid is a surgical resident in Los Angeles and, as such, maintains a long distance relationship with Sid.
Written by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, How I Met Your Father was ordered straight to series by Hulu back in April, with Hillary Duff attached to star as main protagonist Sophie, who — in the not-too-distant-future — is telling her children the story of how she met their father. The main cast also includes Francia Raisa as Valentina, Tom Ainsley as Charlie, Tien Traun as Ellen and the aforementioned Lowell and Sharma as Jesse and Sid, respectively.
The original How I Met Your Mother aired on CBS for nine seasons from 2005 to 2014. The show followed Josh Radnor’s Ted Mosby, who — much like Duff’s character in the spinoff — told his future children how he met their mother, Tracy McConnell (Cristin Milioti). Ted’s own close-knit group of friends included Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel), Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan), Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) and on-again-off-again love interest Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders).
Hulu’s How I Met Your Father does not currently have an official premiere date.
