How the Sega Star Really Achieved His Most Powerful Form

[ad_1]

Sonic the Hedgehog’s Ultra Sonic kicks his abilities into overdrive with a massive mystical power boost that may be stronger than Super Sonic .

By any measure, Sonic the Hedgehog is already one of the most powerful heroes in his world. Between his super-speed, boundless bravery and respectable fighting skills, it seems as if Sonic already has all the power he needs. However, Sonic also has a special reserve of ultimate power that he saves for taking on the most dangerous threats in his world as Ultra Sonic.

Ultra Sonic was introduced in 1998’s Sonic the Hedgehog #66 by Karl Bollers, Steven Butler and Pam Eklund, and Sonic has rarely become more powerful since. The evil wizard, Ixis Naugus, had chased Sonic and Tails to the laboratory of their friend, Nate Morgan, hidden deep within the tundra. Moments before being attacked by Ixis, Sonic and Tails were astounded to find that Nate had forged a seemingly endless amount of Power Rings. Each possessing vast amounts of energy, the combined might of the Power Rings that Nate had would have been enough to help the entire world.

Before Sonic and Tails could discuss the possibilities of the Power Rings further with Nate, Ixis warped into the lab and brought the ceiling down onto the two heroes, although neither Sonic or Tails was injured in the attack. Floating in the air before Ixis, Sonic and Tails had become imbued with the energy of every Power Ring Nate had forged.

Calling themselves Ultra Sonic and Ultra Tails, the two heroes pressed their counterattack and held Ixis at bay. The seemingly limitless powers that Sonic and Tails wielded were unbelievable. Sonic was capable of manipulating matter on the atomic level; he conjured icy water with his mind alone and was able to construct walls of solid stone with a thought. He even created countless stars behind him as he ran near top speed. Tails was just as powerful, moving at speeds far greater than he ever would have been capable of reaching on his own. The battle with Ixis was fierce but brief. The sheer amount of power Sonic and Tails harnessed was simply too great, and both heroes passed out from over-exertion. Ixis attempted to truly defeat Sonic and Tails but was foiled by Nate and Eddy.

Ultra Sonic Powers

Historically, Sonic’s most powerful form was the Super Sonic state he entered into when he used the combined power of all seven Chaos Emeralds. The Chaos Emeralds grant Sonic the power to move at near light speed, manipulate chaos energy to create a number of magical constructs, and even teleport matter. However, it’s difficult to say whether Super Sonic is more powerful than Ultra Sonic, as Sonic has only entered into the Ultra Sonic state a few times. Sharing many powers with Super Sonic, Ultra Sonic is also impervious to nearly all harm and can also harness immense magical powers. It is speculated that Ultra Sonic can move faster than Super Sonic, though, and Ultra Sonic can even open portals to other Zones.

The rarity with which Sonic enters into either state is a testament to just how extreme the circumstances must be for him to gain such powers. Dr. Eggman’s robotic hordes are dangerous enough, but the threat from beings such as Ixis Naugus and Mammoth Mogul far surpassed them. Never knowing what dangers wait around the corner, Sonic fights his hardest every day to prevent evil from taking over the world and putting his friends in danger. But when the forces of evil become too much for the Blue Blur he turns to the powers of the Chaos Emeralds and Power Rings to transform him into the ultimate force of good.
