In Kevin Can F**k Himself, Allison embarks on a petty revenge scheme, but it takes down a sinister business meant to help her gain freedom.
WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Kevin Can F**K Himself Season 1, Episode 3, “We’re Selling Washing Machines,” now available on AMC.
In Kevin Can F**k Himself, one of the biggest quirks about Allison (Annie Murphy) is that she secretly wants to rebel after a life of servitude to her deadbeat husband Kevin (Eric Petersen). It’s why she went on a bender, doing narcotics and trashing bits of Worcester. She craves freedom and her old identity back. However, as she struggles to balance her chaotic side with her mature one, Allison’s petty revenge scheme massively damages Patty’s drug business and overall future.
It all starts when Marcus teases Allison as she passes his auto garage. He did coke with her earlier in Kevin Can F**k Himself but also got punched out for crossing the line, and since then, he’s been taunting her. Marcus sexually objectifies Allison but also despises how she thinks of him as a lowly dealer, and quite frankly, scum. It’s clearly a twisted crush and his way of reacting as his friends keep making fun of him, but Allison decides to strike back by calling the cops.
She informs the police about Marcus wanting to sell her drugs. While this time it’s a lie, when the police take him, they find his stash. However, Marcus quickly snitches on Terrance and crumbles his entire empire. It turns out the well-qualified pharmacist was the one who dealt painkillers to Patty, Allison’s neighbor and the lady she wants drugs from. Allison is seeking to numb herself but also overdose Kevin, so she seriously shoots herself in the foot.
She almost gets Patty caught as well because Patty’s about to pick up her stash when the cops raid. Terrance is quiet for now, but Patty’s on thin ice as she dealt out of her hair salon. They’ve had a partnership for years as she needed opioids for her injured brother, Neil. However, Terrance worked out a deal with her to sell generics so they could cut a profit.
Most of the town wants painkillers for recreational use but a lot require meds for illnesses, so Patty was doing a civic service and genuinely trying to help out in a way. Of course, it was a win-win as she earned cash with Terrance. But now, it’s all shot to hell.
When Patty reveals why she can’t re-up her stock, Allison is dead silent as she can’t say what she did. It’ll cause Patty to flip out, and they don’t even realize the cops suspect others are involved. It means they’re going to pressure Terrance for sources and sellers. This could lead them straight to Patty, which means Allison might have doomed her new and only friend in her crazy world.
Created by Valerie Armstrong, Kevin Can F**K Himself stars Annie Murphy, Mary Hollis Inboden and Eric Petersen. The series airs Sundays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.
