In the latest Comic-Con at Home announcement from Mattel, a product has been unveiled that we can really sink our teeth into: the Jurassic Park Final Scene Ray Arnold. This special collector pack carries a price of $25 and will be available on the Mattel Creations website beginning at 9:00 am Pacific Standard Time on Thursday, July 22nd, 2021.
Dino Damage
Back when the original Jurassic Park action figure line was released by Kenner in 1993, the toy line included dinosaurs with realistic, rubbery skin, and “dino damage” – in other words, a chunk of the prehistoric critter’s body was removable, revealing flesh, blood, and bone beneath (see Girls Don’t Like Dinosaurs by Natasha Alterici for more).
“Dino damage” afforded opportunities for tons of fun during dinosaur play sessions. But why not apply that functionality to the human action figures?
Movie MAYHEM (look it up)
In the movie Jurassic Park, based on the novel by Michael Crichton, the character Ray Arnold is played by Samuel L. Jackson. After the actions of his co-worker, Dennis Nedry (Wayne Knight), cause the power to go offline on Isla Nublar, Arnold has no choice but to go restart the system manually.

In the process, he is killed by velociraptors, a fact uncovered by paleobotanist Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) when the late Arnold’s dismembered arm falls on her shoulder.
In the movie, the mayhem occurs off-screen… but now, thanks to this special action figure set, you can restage the event yourself. The set includes a 3.75” tall figure of Arnold (with removable arm) and a 2.4” tall, 7” long Velociraptor figure. The set includes sounds and lights, too, making this a deleted scene in action figure form!
“Three minutes, and I can have the power back on in the entire park.”
Will you be picking up one of these Ray Arnold Final Scene action figure sets? When will we get a set that features lawyer Donald Gennaro (Martin Ferrero) being eaten off the toilet by a Tyrannosaurs? Let us know what you think, either in the comment section or over on social media @comicsbeat!
