High school just got darker in VARSITY NOIR

[ad_1]

You couldn’t pay me to go back to high school, especially in the era of social media where everyone knows your business before you do. For John in Varsity Noir, being a recovering addict straight out of rehab is tough enough. Getting back into the rhythm of life and school is challenging in and of itself, especially when certain classmates aren’t as welcoming. It’s easy to be tempted back into bad habits. But what happens when Brad, his closest friend, goes missing? John finds out his friend is in deep trouble, and it’s up to him to help Brad before it’s too late.

Created, written, and drawn by Kate Glasheen  (A Radical Shift of Gravity) and colored by Alex Eckman-Lawn, the Webtoons mystery comic offers a layered story, sympathetic and relatable characters, and a compelling tale of recovery, friendship, and intrigue to keep you returning to read all 60 installments of the completed web series. If anything, come for the art. With so many similar styles circulating these days, Glasheen’s linework and Eckman-Lawn’s watercolor palette and aesthetic are refreshing and unique.
