Daredevil actor Vincent D’Onofrio debunks an apparent image of him on set as Kingpin/Wilson Fisk in an upcoming episode of the Disney+ series Hawkeye.

Vincent D’Onofrio commented on a supposed leaked image of him from the Disney+ series Hawkeye.

Responding to a tweet that included an apparent image of D’Onofrio as Kingpin from an upcoming episode, he joked, “Well it’s a really bad job from someone trying to make it look like me. This guy in the pic is more handsome I think.”

In Marvel Comics, Kingpin/Wilson Fisk is a powerful crime boss who is easily recognized by his large figure and signature white suit jacket and walking stick. D’Onofrio portrayed the character in the critically acclaimed Netflix series Daredevil throughout its three-season run.

Marvel fans have been speculating for some time now that Kingpin could be in Hawkeye. This is likely brought on by the series’ inclusion of Echo, who is Kingpin’s adoptive daughter in the Marvel comics. Echo, played by Alaqua Cox, was recently introduced in the final moments of Episode 2 of Hawkeye and is set to be the leader of the villainous Tracksuit Mafia.

This isn’t the first time D’Onofrio has used Twitter to tease or respond to fans about his involvement in the series. He recently captioned one of the trailers uploaded on the official Hawkeye account, adding, “This is going to be fun. I love these @Marvel series.” The actor also liked a number of tweets from fans speculating about his potential role in Hawkeye.

A slip-up by Hawkeye producer Trinh Tran last week also fuelled rumors that Kingpin could be featured in the fourth or fifth episode of the series. In an interview promoting the series, she responded to a question about the reasoning for the introduction of Echo, saying, “We need to speak after you’ve seen the f- the rest of the episodes.”

D’Onofrio isn’t the only actor who’s rumored to bring their role from Daredevil to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Charlie Cox could be making an appearance as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home. His rumored role will apparently be to help Peter Parker deal with the aftermath of Mysterio revealing his identity and setting him as a murderer.

Only time will tell if D’Onofrio will appear in Hawkeye. In the meantime, the first two episodes of the show are streaming now on Disney+.
