Hasbro Pulse unveils a fully-functioning Nerf Gun replica of Halo’s Needler, modeled after the blaster as it appears in Halo Infinite.
Hasbro recently added a fully-functional replica of Halo‘s iconic Needler, one of the most recognizable weapons in video game history, to the NERF arsenal.
Hasbro Pulse worked alongside Halo developer 343 Industries to model the NERF Needler after the weapon’s appearance in the upcoming Halo Infinite. In addition to premium packaging, the NERF Needler also comes with a stand that shows off the blaster’s many light-up effects in display mode as well as a game card that unlocks “in-game content” for Infinite players. The NERF LMTD Halo Needler will retail for around $100, with pre-orders open until Dec. 31. It will be available for shipping starting Jan. 11, 2022.
The NERF LMTD Halo Needler not only replicates the distinctive look of the deadly blaster but also features a variety of functions and effects to make the wielder truly feel like one of the Banished or Covenant. The flexible needles light up when the handle is gripped, with the needles going dark after unleashing up to 10 foam darts from a fully motorized rotating drum, simulating how the needles launch from the blaster in the game. The trigger can be held down to rapidly fire the 10 included NERF Elite pink darts, with reloading being as simple as flipping open the shield.
The Needler is the latest iconic weapon to join NERF’s LMTD line, as limited edition replicas for both the M41A Pulse Rifle from Aliens and The Mandalorian‘s Amban Phase-Pulse Blaster have already been announced. However, while the Phase-Pulse Blaster and Pulse Rifle are expected to ship in March and October 2022, respectively, the Needler isn’t due out until next November. Hasbro did share its progress on the Needler, though, providing a look at an early working model during a recent YouTube livestream.
Having appeared in every Halo game to date, the Needler (or the Type-33 Guided Munitions Launcher as its first model was known) is a submachine gun frequently used by the Covenant Empire. In the game, the Needler fires homing crystalline shards that explode on impact. Due to its rapid rate of fire and fairly limited range, though, the gun is most optimally used for close to medium-range encounters with the enemy.
Halo fans will once again be able to wield the Needler when Halo Infinite releases its campaign mode and free-to-play multiplayer on Dec. 8 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
