Halo Infinite’s Best Easter Eggs Locations

[ad_1]

Halo Infinite has a sprawling open-world to explore, so it only makes sense that it would also have a number of hilarious Easter eggs to find.

It’s always been said that there’re many mysteries surrounding Zeta Halo, but not all of them have to do with the story. One of the best things to do in any video game is uncover the Easter eggs and references hidden throughout. This is something that nearly every Halo title has done with great passion, and it’s true for Halo Infinite as well.

With the campaign’s open-world as vast as it is, there are little Easter eggs hidden all across the map, ranging from lore references to outright breaking the fourth wall. We can’t cover everything, but we can go over the five best and where to find them.

The Flood

A Flood Infector Cylix

The deadliest and most terrifying enemy of the entire series, the parasitic Flood, has been absent from many major Halo titles for years, except Halo Wars 2‘s The Awakening Nightmare DLC. There are references made about the parasite during the campaign, but they’re not the story’s focus. However, lore about Zeta Halo reveals that it was home to a massive infestation during the Forerunners’ initial efforts to stop them and that some are still alive in containment rooms.

Near the end of the second main mission, before ascending the Banished elevator to the surface, players should look for a small hallway on the right side, opposite of the room where the power seed needs to be retrieved. In this room, they’ll find a single Cylix that is protected by an energy field, with a design of what is undoubtedly a Flood infection form. While it could just be a subtle reference and acknowledgment of the Flood and how terrifying they’ve always been, it could also hint at a possible future expansion where the parasite is unleashed once more.

The Classic Xbox

The Classic Xbox

Scattered across Zeta Halo are the abandoned remains of camps made by UNSC marines trying to survive. One such location is in a cave northeast of FOB Juliet and southeast of one of the beacons. Inside the cave is a useful Spartan Core, but there’s also a cool secret for those who can find it.

Simply walk along the right side of the cave wall and look up until you’ve found a small gap. Grapple up and you’ll then crawl into a hidden cave with more UNSC gear, including a TV and classic Xbox. It’s cool to think how far Xbox has come since releasing its first console and that for most of the journey, Halo has evolved right alongside it. If the marines are stuck on the Ring, at least they’ve got some great entertainment.

A Giant Sandwich

Grunts Worshiping a Giant Sandwich

In the second region of the map, almost directly south of the first Spire encountered, make your way through a large cave system filled with various Banished troops that you need to fight. This cave also houses a Spartan Core to be collected at the end. Near the middle of the cave, players need to grapple up and find a small hidden cave with a giant sandwich that’s worshipped by a pack of grunts.

This is definitely one of the stranger Easter eggs placed in the game since we’re not sure what it’s referencing, if anything at all. However, finding it will get a chuckle out of anyone. It’s also a display of the developer’s great sense of humor and the hilarious things they’ve hidden throughout the world.

Red vs. Blue

Red Vs Blue Reference

Almost as iconic as the series itself, the machinima series Red vs. Blue was created by Rooster Teeth in the company’s early days and has gone on for 18 seasons. References about the web show can be found all over the game, such as the Warthog sometimes being called a puma or the Scorpion tank being named Sheila. But the most explicit reference can be found on the middle island with the Banished Gun Batteries that need to be taken out during the main story.

Make your way to the easternmost Gun Battery, then travel south until you reach the edge of the island. You’ll eventually find a hole that has a dead marine and grunt. Each has their own little fortifications and are bathed in red and blue lights respectively, making for morbid but funny discovery.

Craig’s Zeta Halo Tour

Craig's Zeta Halo Tour

Once the source of mockery towards 343 Industries during their underwhelming gameplay showcase in 2020, Craig the Brute has since become loved by the community. He’s also been rightly honored by developers with an Easter egg and some hilarious lore regarding the Banished.

To find the Craig Easter egg, players need to get to the top of the Tower where they fought Chak Lok. This can be done either with the upgraded grapple hook or flying up there with a Wasp or Banshee. At the top, they’ll see a bunch of banished equipment made to look like Craig had started a band and completed a tour to all of the major Banished locations on the map. There’s even a record that shows Craig’s original likeness before the delay. This location is also home to a Skull, so make sure to collect that while you’re there.
