Halo Fans Love Infinite’s Multiplayer, Except for One Major Complaint…

[ad_1]

Following the surprise early launch of Halo Infinite, fans are loving the game while lamenting the slow progression of the Battle Pass.

Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer, which was launched earlier than expected, has received almost universal praise from fans of the franchise but everyone agrees that progression is too slow.

Released ahead of schedule to celebrate Xbox’s 20th anniversary, players flocked to Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer, subsequently taking to social media to express their thoughts. Most fans are enamored with 343 Industries’ latest game, with some suggesting it to be the best Halo multiplayer experience yet. Praise is being heaped on the game’s tight combat mechanics, sound design and visual aesthetic as Twitter is flooded with short videos of spectacular kill-streaks.

While Halo Infinite has managed to grab the attention of both new and old players alike, most fans agree that the multiplayer’s progression is far too stunted. Cosmetic unlocks can be obtained by completing challenges in the Battle Pass which exists on both a free and premium tier. The entire rewards track spans 100 levels, sixty of which grant free rewards while the remaining items are locked behind a $10 paywall. This is standard practice for most free-to-play games, yet players are pointing to how slow the unlock process is as the biggest criticism for Halo Infinite.

Despite completing several Battle Pass challenges, players are struggling to make a meaningful dent in the reward track. Many have claimed that despite playing for hours, they’ve managed to earn just a single level. A similar situation was felt during the launch of Apex Legends‘ Season 7 which featured a similarly slow progression loop.

Beyond its troubled development, Halo Infinite is currently on track to make a huge splash in 2021. Despite unexpectedly launching on a Monday night, the game managed to hit 200,000 concurrent players on Steam. That number is expected to grow as the weekend approaches, meaning Halo Infinite might have what it takes to become the next popular online shooter.

As for the campaign of Halo Infinite, Master Chief’s story is set to continue on Dec. 8. This single-player component can be played separately from the multiplayer suite and will introduce a host of new concepts to the Halo franchise including a sprawling open-world, dynamic enemy encounters and a grappling hook. Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer and campaign are available exclusively on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
