A new trailer for Gotham Knights reveals more about the game’s setting and characters, both good and evil.

Developed by Warner Bros. Games Montreal, Gotham Knights is an open-world action-adventure game. Players can journey through Gotham either solo or with a friend in two-person co-op. Throughout their crusade, the game’s playable characters can be leveled up, unlocking new abilities and gadgets via the Bat-Family’s safe house, The Belfry. To navigate the slippery, neon-soaked streets of Gotham, which the developers promise will be both “dynamic and interactive,” players can take advantage of several mechanics, including Batgirl’s ability to glide, Robin’s short-range teleporter or the Batcycle.

The Court of Owls played a substantial role in Gotham Knights’ marketing, appearing in several short videos and images to tease fans. The sinister organization, comprising of wealthy and influential citizens, is a relatively recent addition to Batman’s rogue’s gallery, first appearing in 2011 in Batman Vol. 2 #3 by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. Mister Freeze is also confirmed to appear in the game according to a trailer released at DC FanDome 2020.

Gotham Knights is scheduled to release in 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
