Gorillaz lead singer Damon Albarn announces the iconic animated rock band is getting a full-length animated film produced by Netflix.

Gorillaz’s Damon Albarn, who provides the vocals for fictional lead singer 2-D, announced that a full-length film centered on the iconic animated band is currently in development at Netflix. In an interview with Apple Music, Albarn said, “I’m in LA because we’re making a full-length [Gorillaz] film with Netflix. We’re having a writing session in Malibu.” He went on to say, “It’s something we’ve been wanting to do for a very long time. It’s been through so many incarnations, Gorillaz doing a movie.”
