George Takai’s Petty Insults Get Perfect Response from William Shatner
The seemingly never-ending animosity between Star Trek veterans William Shatner and George Takei erupted again over the weekend on Twitter, when Shatner retaliated against Takei for labeling him a “unfit guinea pig” upon his return from a world-record-breaking space journey. On Friday, Page Six cited left-wing activist Takei as dubbing Shatner a 90-year-old “guinea pig” who is “boldly going where other people have gone before” after his former Star Trek co-star traveled into space on Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket.
“He’s boldly going where other people have gone before,” Takei remarked. “He’s a guinea pig, 90 years old and it’s important to find out what happens.”
“So 90 years old is going to show a great deal more on the wear and tear on the human body, so he’ll be a good specimen to study,” he continued. “Although he’s not the fittest specimen of 90 years old, so he’ll be a specimen that’s unfit!”

Since he initially left the set of the first Star Trek more than 50 years ago, Takei has launched his usually one-sided battle. Shatner has been accused by Takei of taking Sulu’s lines and editing the character out of situations in the series and subsequent films. Shatner has described Takei’s comments as “sad” adding that “there’s a psychosis there,”of Takei’s constant attacks. “There must be something else inside George that is festering, and it makes him unhappy that he takes it out on me … Why would he go out of his way to denigrate me? It’s sad, I feel nothing but pity for him.”
Don’t hate George. The only time he gets press is when he talks bad about me. He claims 50+ years ago I took away a camera angle that denied him 30 more seconds of prime time TV. 🤷🏼♂️ I’m giving it back to him now by letting him spew his hatred for the world to see!🤣 Bill the 🐷
