DC Extended Universe star Gal Gadot celebrates Batman Day with a behind-the-scenes clip from Justice League.
Batman Day is here and the fans are out in force to celebrate online, that includes the DC Extended Universe’s own Wonder Woman actor Gal Gadot.
On social media, Gadot posted a behind-the-scenes clip from the set of Justice League, in which the actor donned the Dark Knight’s cowl. “Bringing out my inner bat,” she wrote. “Happy Batman Day.”
The first Batman Day was celebrated on July 23, 2014– the 75th anniversary of Batman’s debut in Detective Comics. It is celebrated on the third Saturday in September. Fans often celebrate through artwork, marathons, or simply sharing their favorite Batman moments on social media.
Gadot made her debut in Warner Bros.’ DCEU in the 2016 film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Despite the overall negative reception of the film, critics singled Gadot out for her performance as Wonder Woman. She returned for 2017’s Justice League and reprised the role for reshoots for Zack Snyder’s Justice League on HBO Max.
She quickly became a fan-favorite and received a solo Wonder Woman film, directed by Patty Jenkins. The film was both a critical and financial success, grossing $822.3 million on a budget of approximately $150 million. Gadot appeared once again as the Amazonian demigod for the sequel, Wonder Woman 1984, which was delayed multiple times due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, before ultimately being released on HBO Max.
