A new G4 promo confirms the gaming-centric network’s November re-launch date.
After nearly seven whole years off the air, the gaming-centric network G4 is officially slated to return this coming November.
A tongue-in-cheek promo shared to the G4 Twitter account pokes fun at recent happenings in the video game world, namely the Xbox Series X console being compared to a refrigerator, PlayStation 5 systems being hard to come by, the announcement of the Nintendo Switch OLED model and, of course, KFC trying to enter the gaming space. The trailer concludes by revealing that the new G4 will launch on Tuesday, Nov. 16.
G4 (also known as G4tv and briefly rebranded as G4techTV from 2004 to 2005) originally launched in 2002. Over the course of its existence, the gaming-focused channel featured original programs like Attack of the Show!, X-Play and Code Monkeys. G4 was also the original home of American Ninja Warrior. Additionally, the network aired reruns of acquired programs like Star Trek, Arrested Development, Quantum Leap and the various Marvel anime series. G4 ceased operations in November 2014 and went off the air the following month. It was officially announced in mid-2020 that G4 would be making a comeback.
G4 returns on Nov. 16.
