You have to hand it to developer Sabec: their catalogue of games sure does cover all the hits. You’ll probably know them best as the people who brought “Calculator” into our lives, but they’ve got quite the portfolio on Switch, from the newly-announced Popeye game to a game that’s literally called “Robox”, perhaps in an attempt to cash in on people who are hoping to find Roblox on the eShop.
Sometimes Sabec makes licensed games, like Scalextric, and something called Rainbocorns, but the developer has a side hustle: Switch versions of popular instruments, the latest of which is Handpan.
They released Piano in May 2020:
“Piano also comes with a free play mode, so you can anything you wany, maybe after enough practice in the learning mode you can play one of the included songs without any assistance and amaze you family and friends.
Piano is the fun way for anyone to start learning to play the piano and improve ones hand eye co-ordination.”
Then, in September 2020, they beefed up the percussion with Drums:
“Drums also comes with a free play mode, so you can play anything you want either with the bonus metronome or without any assistance and amaze you family and friends.
Drums is the fun way for anyone to start learning to play the drums and improve your hand-eye coordination skills.”
In November 2020, it was time for Guitar:
“As bonus Guitar also comes with an acoustic, classic and electric guitar so you can amaze your family and friends with your new learnt musical talent.
Guitar is the fun way for anyone to start learning to play the guitar and improve ones hand eye co-ordination.”
Then, Sabec took a break to make other games, but returned triumphant in May 2021 with Xylophone:
“Xylophone also comes with a free play mode, so you can play anything you want NAND maybe after enough practice learning you can play one of the included songs without any assistance and amaze you family and friends.
Xylophone is the fun way for anyone to start learning to play the Xylophone.”
And now, here we are, just two days away from the November 3rd release of Handpan, which will unfortunately not amaze your family and friends or improve your hand-eye coordination, but can be played with either touchscreen or Joy-Con, and offers Solo (one handpan) and Duo (two handpans) modes.
Handpan will cost $9.99 on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
Have you bought any of Sabec’s instrument games? Will you be getting Handpan? Let us know!
