Field of Dreams: Kevin Costner Pays Tribute to Ray Liotta
With the recent passing of Ray Liotta, we find out that one of the coolest moments in cinema just happened and wasn’t planned. Kevin Costner took to Twitter to honor his co-star as the two starred together in the 1989 film Field of Dreams. In one of the scenes Costner’s character of Ray Kinsella is pitching to Liotta’s Shoeless Joe Jackson, one of the best and most infamous baseball players in history. Kinsella is awestruck that he’s pitching to a legend but tries to get fancy and throw a curve. Jackson smacks it directly back at Kinsella, who scrambles out of the way and ends up on his ass. Jackson glares at him. According to Costner’s post, that moment was a stunt but really happened while filming and the two actors didn’t break character.
Devastated to hear the news of Ray Liotta’s passing. While he leaves an incredible legacy, he’ll always be “Shoeless Joe Jackson” in my heart. What happened that moment in the film was real. God gave us that stunt. Now God has Ray. pic.twitter.com/JQmk1PsuSK
