The Fantastic Four have their 60th Anniversary, the Daughters of the Dragon train Spider-Man, Shang-Chi faces Thor and more from Marvel this week.
Fantastic Four celebrates a major milestone, Ben Reilly’s Spider-Man trains with one of comics’ greatest duos and more to read in this week’s Marvel Comics releases for Nov. 17.
2021 marks the 60th Anniversary of Fantastic Four. It was the book created by Marvel’s legendary writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby all the way back in 1961, paving the way for Marvel Comics to become what it is today. In this week’s Fantastic Four Anniversary Tribute #1, the team’s very first issue, Fantastic Four #1, gets retold with updated art for the cover and interior.
Aside from the stroll down Memory Lane, The Amazing Spider-Man #78.BEY will see Misty Knight and Colleen Wing, the Daughters of the Dragon, train Ben Reilly, who has once again taken up the mantle of Spider-Man for the Beyond Corporation. Of course, while he is not the only web-slinger in Marvel with Miles Morales, Ghost Spider and more running around, he fills a void left by Peter Parker, who is currently stuck in a coma. While the last issue, The Amazing Spider-Man #78, saw Peter momentarily open his eyes, the wall crawler is not expected to wake up any time soon.
Meanwhile, the one-shot Darkhold: Wasp #1 starring Janet Van Dyne will explore what happened to the Wasp after she read from the Darkhold at Scarlet Witch’s request in Darkhold: Alpha #1. Limited series also continue this week, such as the four-issue Black Panther Legends and the five-issue Kang the Conqueror, which will experience its penultimate chapter this Wednesday. Many other X-Men and Star Wars-related titles will also be available for purchase, along with classic superhero titles like Shang-Chi, which will see the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s latest star go up against the God of Thunder, Thor.
