CBR has an exclusive first look at Fantastic Four #36, which deals with the fallout of Johnny Storm’s new status quo following Doctor Doom’s wedding.
One of the major ramifications coming out of “The Bride of Doom” in recent issues of Fantastic Four involves Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch. After essentially ruining Doctor Doom’s wedding to Victorious, the ruler of Latveria used one of his creations to punish Johnny by locking him in his “Flame On” state. Now, the Fantastic Four have to try and free Johnny from his form.
CBR has an exclusive first look at Fantastic Four #36 by writer Dan Slott, artist Nico Leon and colorist Dono Sánchez Almara. which features Reed Richards attempting to use his genius brain to come up with a way to put the Human Torch back to normal. Unfortunately, the tests don’t appear to be going so well, as even eating a simple double-cheeseburger is unsuccessful for Johnny since it immediately evaporates in his hands.
Since the Human Torch is letting off so much heat, no one except Ben Grimm is able to get anywhere close to him, since Thing’s rock-hard exterior prevents him from being melted. However, he does have to wear a breathable helmet over his face since Johnny is soaking up all of the oxygen in the room with his constantly burning fire powers.
Written by Dan Slot with art by Nico Leon and Dono Sánchez Almara, Fantastic Four #36 goes on sale Sept. 22 from Marvel Comics.
