Extreme Carnage Assembles Anti-Venom’s New Symbiote Squad

[ad_1]

Extreme Carnage has just brought together a brand new Marvel dream team of symbiotes, tying together multiple generations of heroes to save the world.

WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Extreme Carnage: Toxin, available now from Marvel Comics.

Carnage’s most recent return to the forefront of the Marvel Universe has been an absolute bloodbath. The serial killer symbiote has been taking his time amassing not one, but two armies of loyal followers on opposite ends of the budding war between symbiote and mankind. To make matters worse, Carnage has even managed to avoid having his plans disrupted by any hero who has gotten in his way so far. Of course, that doesn’t mean they aren’t still trying, and it’s Toxin whose efforts prove fruitful by accidentally stepping into the greatest symbiote trio of all time.

Toxin is only the latest symbiote to hear Carnage’s call ring out in his mind. Before he knew what was happening, he had been separated from his latest host only to find himself deep within the Void. From within the furthest reaches of the symbiote Hive, Carnage has been calling his fellow symbiotes to him, convincing them to join in his ranks by force if necessary. Toxin, however, is not so keen on following in his bloodthirsty father’s footsteps, and almost as quickly as he has been pulled into the Void he has freed himself by consuming Carnage’s form inside of it. This lets Toxin return to Bren’s side when his host needs him most, though it also creates an opening for the heroic symbiote to be found by two of his equally benevolent brethren in the forms of Anti-Venom and Silence.

Better known as Flash Thompson and Andi Benton, these two have been working tirelessly to put Carnage’s machinations to an end. A large part of that relied on Silence to try and find Carnage and sever his connection to the Hive itself, though she isn’t connected to it any longer, either. Instead, Silence is now connected to the same void from which Toxin just purged Carnage, and there the two find one another in a truly unexpected moment. Thankfully, all of these symbiotes are on the same page, and Extreme Carnage: Toxin by Steve Orlando, Gerardo Sandoval, Danilo S. Beyruth, Victor Nava, Chris Sotomayor, and VC’s Cory Petit sees them band together to take Carnage down once and for all.

As the spawn of Carnage, Toxin is already capable of being far more powerful than his progenitor could ever hope, as evidenced by the brutal defeat he has just handed out. Silence and Anti-Venom are likewise incredibly formidable foes in a fight, but it is their greater abilities as anti-symbiotes that give them their killer edge in battle. Any of them are a force to be reckoned with on their own, but together they have formed the greatest symbiote dream team of all time, and from the looks of things Carnage doesn’t have much time before they have caught up with him for one final confrontation.

Toxin, Anti-Venom and Silence all sprout massive wings in order to take to the skies, the trio heading straight for wherever Carnage is hiding as the sun beams down on them from above. It’s an incredible sight to behold, and one that speaks to the new direction that this team of heroes is pushing their symbiote brethren in. With any luck, they will be able to free the others from Carnage’s influence. At least, assuming the other symbiotes want to be free of it in the first place. If nothing else, they at least have new role models to look up to besides Eddie Brock.
