Eternals star Kit Harington doesn’t know if his character, Dane Whitman/Black Knight, fell victim to Thanos’ snap — though he doubts that he did.
Eternals star Kit Harington says he doesn’t know if his character, Dane Whitman/Black Knight, was among those who were snapped away by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War before being “blipped” back in Avengers: Endgame. However, he suspects that Dane managed to make it out alive.
During an interview with The Playlist, Harington was asked if Marvel Studios ever told him whether or not Dane was one of Thanos’ many victims. “They didn’t actually, and I never asked,” Harington answered. “That’s bad acting of me. That’s bad preparation. I reckon he wasn’t. I reckon he was there, he stayed. That’s the decision I’m making now.”
Prior to this, Harington had revealed earlier this year that he was unsure of Marvel’s plans for Black Knight. “I’ve got no idea whether my character goes on or not,” the actor said. “I had read up on who he could be, or might be. So there’s the possibility for a longer trajectory. And hopefully, I think this is the tip of the iceberg for my character. I hope. But I just don’t know, you know? I’m as in the dark as anyone else. And I try not to live too far ahead in the future with anything. Even when I was in Game of Thrones, even on the sixth season, I presumed the seventh season wasn’t going to happen!”
As for the Blip itself, a recent promo for Eternals reveals that the titular heroes are going after their old enemies, the Deviants, which have managed to return following the Avengers undoing Thanos’ snap in Endgame.
Eternals opens in theaters on Nov. 5.
