Ed Piskor’s acclaimed horror comic series Red Room unveils a beautifully bloody line of variant covers for its fourth issue.

Red Room, by celebrated cartoonist Ed Piskor, has unveiled the covers for its fourth issue ahead of its August release.

Published by Fantagraphics, the horror comic series continues its bloody descent into the shadiest corners of the dark web. In addition to the standard cover illustrated by Piskor, Fantagraphics has exclusively shared a preview for the fourth issue’s set of variant covers including a Cartoonist Kayfabe variant, a deliriously gory variant illustrated by Geoff Darrow, a Spawn #1 homage variant by Piskor’s longtime collaborator and friend Jim Rugg, an Uncanny Knack exclusive variant by John Gallagher and a Comic Corner exclusive variant illustrated by Chinh Potter. Also unveiled is a sketch cover variant for the first issue’s second printing, illustrated by Piskor.

Intended to be an homage to the outlaw splatter comics that proliferated across the indie comic book scene, Red Room delves into the more lethally sinister sides of the dark web as killers begin livestreaming their murders. Upon its launch in May, Red Room was praised for its intensity and unrelenting violence as it satirized online culture.

Issue #4 closes out the current volume of Red Room, with Piskor planning to launch a second set of comics during 2022 as he continues to build an interconnected horror story exploring the deadly side of cyberspace.

Written and illustrated by Ed Piskor, Red Room #4 goes on sale Aug. 18 from Fantagraphics.
