Dying Light 2 Prequel Comic Sets up the Infected World of the Game

Banshee – I Am The Cure is a new comic book that serves as a prequel story to the upcoming survival-horror game Dying Light 2 Stay Human.

Techland has announced Banshee – I Am The Cure, a new comic that will serve as a prequel to the upcoming Dying Light 2 Stay Human.

The comic, developed in partnership with publisher Dynamite Entertainment, details the events that lead to the spread of the Harran Virus, a deadly pathogen discovered in the original Dying Light. Banshee – I Am The Cure will be available immediately after the next Dying 2 Know episode, which airs on July 1.

While players were introduced to the zombie virus in the first game, it was largely isolated to the city of Harran. Techland has confirmed that Dying Light 2 Stay Human sees the virus spread around the world; Banshee – I Am The Cure details exactly how this great outbreak takes place. Whether any of the characters introduced in the comic book appear in the game remains unknown.

Until July 15, fans will be able to download the comic for free via Techland Gamers and Goodies, the publisher’s official community hub. A physical version of Banshee – I Am The Cure is expected to release later this year but Techland did not provide any specific details.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human is an upcoming first-person survival horror game that tasks players with surviving the outbreak of a deadly zombie virus. Players will take control of Aiden Caldwell and use a variety of weapons to overcome the undead hordes of fallen city Villedor. Dying Light‘s signature parkour system makes a return as players learn how to best navigate their environment while dodging powerful creatures that only come out at night.

The next installment of Dying 2 Know, a stream dedicated to providing fans of the franchise updates on the next game’s development, airs on July 1 at 12 p.m. PDT, 3 p.m. EDT and 9 p.m. CEST.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human launches on Dec. 7 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Pre-orders for the game are open now.
