The sheer number of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 DLCs makes it hard for players to choose which ones to purchase, but these packs are worth the while.
Released almost five and a half years ago, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is the fourth game in the Dragon Ball franchise to feature customizable characters and allow players to choose from five different races, each with their respective strengths and weaknesses. Along with a newer Dragon Ball installment, Xenoverse 2 reached an important milestone last year, selling over 8 million copies worldwide.
Despite its venerable age, Bandai Namco continues to support the game by frequently introducing new downloadable content. After adding two Legendary Packs to the DLC roster last year, the company confirmed that new add-ons are scheduled to release sometime in 2022. With a total of 15 DLC packs released, players who are new to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 may be wondering which ones are worth buying. While most DLCs structurally follow the same pattern and include new characters, attacks, quests and skills, the following packs are bound to enhance the gameplay experience, whether single or multiplayer.
Super Pack 4 is the DLC Every Warrior Hopes For
Another DLC pack that players should consider purchasing is Super Pack 4, released in June 2017. Like Extra Pack 2, the fourth DLC includes a new story, “Warrior of Hope,” in which the players embark on a journey through time in hopes of helping Trunks stop the bastardized version of Goku from altering history. In light of the story’s events, the pack adds the overpowered SSGSS Vegito and Fused Zamasu as playable characters.
Perhaps somewhat expectedly, Super Pack 4 also introduces a new playable stage with an adequate name of “Future in Ruins.” Moreover, the DLC comes with two new costumes, three parallel quests, five attacks used by Fused Zamasu and six Super Souls in total.
Ultra Pack 1 is the Prince of All DLC Packs
The third DLC pack that newcomers to the series should consider is Ultra Pack 1, released in July 2019. Aside from Ribrianne, the ninth DLC adds two Vegeta’s forms as playable characters. Both Super Saiyan God and Evolved SSGSS Vegeta are an excellent choice for versus matches, as their ultimate skills can almost instantly knock out the opponent.
In addition to four new costumes, five parallel quests, eight Super Souls and ten attacks, with the Ultimate Charge being one of the best additions, Ultra Pack 1 also comes with the Evolved version of the awakened skill Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. Although it is the second skill that does not require the regular Super Saiyan form and can be obtained in the same manner as its predecessor from the sixth DLC, players will need a Saiyan character to complete the rift missions and acquire the regular Super Saiyan form to complete the main story.
Your Ultra Instincts Are Correct About Extra Pack 2
Although Extra Pack 2 was released in February 2018, it is superior to the latest add-ons and by far the best DLC, regardless of the preferred playstyle. The pack introduces a new story, “Infinite History,” which comes with a unique story mode. As such, players can proactively change the course of history depending on the partner they select and whether they choose to help or hinder the research of one of the new playable characters, Fu.
Aside from the time-traveling teenager, Extra Pack 2 adds three additional characters, the most notable being Goku (Ultra Instinct), who boasts several powerful skills like Soaring Fist, Automatic Dodge and his ultimate skill, Godly Display. Furthermore, it includes two new costumes, five parallel quests, nine Super Souls and some of the best attacks and power-ups in the entire game, such as Meditation. It is also worth mentioning that the pack comes with the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan awakened skill, which is exclusive to Saiyan characters but can be acquired by any race.
