Dexter: New Blood’s Clancy Brown reveals his character in Chad Stahelski’s John Wick: Chapter 4 is connected to The High Table in some way.

Dexter: New Blood star Clancy Brown recently shared new details about the character he’ll portray in the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4.

“I will say it’s more of the Table revealed,” the actor told Collider. “More of the High Table, the kind of intricacies of that authority structure is revealed. With my guy. And I am in a couple of scenes that you could argue are action scenes, I suppose. A lot of my scenes are with Bill Skarsgård, which was a lot of fun.”

Fans of the John Wick film franchise will recall that The High Table is a council consisting of 12 high-level crime lords who both govern and oversee the underworld’s most powerful criminal organizations.

While Brown didn’t reveal anything more about his character’s involvement with The High Table, the actor also shared he was on the film’s set the night Lance Reddick filmed his final scenes as Charon. “It was good because I really wanted to meet Lance … and all the reporting about what Keanu [Reeves] is is absolutely true, absolutely right,” Brown recalled. “Keanu made it a point to come and celebrate Lance a bit in that last moment, which was really nice. Good guy. He’s a good guy, that Mr. Reeves.”

It was first announced that Brown had joined the John Wick franchise back in August, with director Chad Stahelski saying, “I have been a fan of Clancy Brown’s since I can remember. To have him be a part of this project is an honor. He will make a perfect addition to the World of John Wick!”

Prior to joining John Wick, Brown was probably best known for his roles as Colonel Ray Schoonover in Netflix’s Daredevil series, Mr. Crosby in The Goldbergs and Schooled and Waylon “Jock” Jeffcoat in Billions. He also provides the voice of Mr. Krabs in various projects within the SpongeBob SquarePants universe and currently stars as serial killer Kurt Caldwell in Showtime’s Dexter revival series, Dexter: New Blood.

While John Wick: Chapter 4 was initially expected to hit theaters in mid-2022, Lionsgate recently revealed in a stylish teaser video the film’s release has been pushed to the start of 2023. The video opens on the Administration facility, the home base for the underground society of assassins. Additional footage shows various pinup-styled women, known as the Accountants, operating switches as classical music plays in the background. A voice on a loudspeaker then declares, “John Wick is now in effect,” as the Accountants reveal the film’s new release date to be March 24, 2023. The video concludes with the infamous Wick line “Be seeing you,” as pink flower petals float past.

Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick: Chapter 4 stars Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishbourne, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, Bill Skarsgård, Rina Sawayama, Shamier Anderson and Clancy Brown. The film is set for release on March 24, 2023.
