Death of Doctor Strange Forces Blade to Defend Dracula’s Vampire Nation (Exclusive)

Death of Doctor Strange: Blade by Danny Lore and Dylan Burnett sees the vampire hunter have to protect the very creatures he’s sworn to destroy.

Blade is used to hunting vampires across the Marvel Universe, but recent events in Avengers have turned the vampire hunter into the sheriff of Dracula’s Vampire Nation. Marvel’s Death of Doctor Strange event series will push Blade even further by forcing him to choose between protecting vampires or exterminating them for good.

CBR can exclusively reveal Death of Doctor Strange: Blade #1 by writer Danny Lore and artist Dylan Burnett. The December one-shot finds Dracula and his Vampire Nation celebrating the Sorcerer Supreme’s death. However, the party doesn’t last long when a threat from another dimension invades vampire territory, putting their undead lives at risk. Blade will then have to decide if he will perform his sheriff duties by protecting the vampires, or help this mysterious threat in wiping them all out.

“Marvel Horror is an essential, formative part of my life as a comic fan and creator, so being able to write about Dracula and the coolest Daywalker ever is an honor!” Lore said. “And to top it off, to be writing Blade again in the context of the Death of Doctor Strange means I get to tackle Blade in possibly one of the most infuriating situations of his vampire hunting career. And aggravating the coolest kid in the class has always been a hobby of mine.”

There will be various stories to spin out of Death of Doctor Strange, including the introduction of a new villainous mystical team called The Three Mothers. Ben Reilly’s Spider-Man and White Fox will also star in other tie-ins.

Death of Doctor Strange: Blade #1 goes on sale in December from Marvel Comics.
