Deadpool 2 Star Wants Multiple Sequels, Domino Solo Film

[ad_1]

Deadpool 2 star Zazie Beetz, who played X-Force member Domino in the Marvel sequel, discusses the possibility of expanding the Deadpool universe.

Zazie Beetz, who played X-Force member Domino in Deadpool 2, recently discussed the possibility of reprising the fan-favorite character in a solo film, as well as in multiple Deadpool sequels.

“I would love to revisit Domino,” Beetz told ComicBook.com when asked about the future of the Deadpool franchise. “I would love to do a Deadpool 3, 4, 5, 7, 19. I’ve also wanted to be like, ‘Maybe I could just do my own origin story.’ I feel honored to have been able to depict her on screen and to have played with her, as her. I love her and so I would be more than happy to revisit her on camera. And I think I will. If Disney doesn’t make it happen, I’ll make it happen.”

Unlike the first two films, Deadpool 3 will be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it remains unclear when the threequel will go into production. When Beetz was asked earlier this year if she’d heard anything yet about returning as Domino in the third Deadpool movie, she said, “No, I haven’t. I would love to revive the role. That was always in the world of what was potentially going to happen [after Deadpool 2]. I haven’t had any specific conversations around it. But I’m interested. Not only would I love to revive the role, I would love to figure out a way to make a Domino movie or something like that. We’ll see what happens, but I haven’t had any personal conversations.”

Although no release date has been publicly announced, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige recently revealed that Deadpool 3 has a secret spot on the MCU calendar. “The script is in the works and Ryan [Reynolds] is working very hard on it with our writers as we speak,” he said.

Meanwhile, Reynolds recently said there’s a strong chance that Deadpool 3 will go into production next year. “I’d say it’s 50/50 maybe?” he said when asked if filming would get underway in 2022. “We’re really actively developing it and getting it into pretty good shape. What the hell month is it? August? Oh, next year? Probably pretty damn good. I’d say 70 percent.” It’s worth noting that Reynolds made those comments before announcing in October that he will be taking a break from making movies for an undisclosed period of time.

No director has been attached to Deadpool 3 yet, but writers Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin (Bob’s Burgers) are currently penning the script.
