DC drops a fresh teaser for Teen Titans: Beast Boy Loves Raven, the latest entry in the young adult series by Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo.
Teen Titans, the young adult graphic novel series from DC, saw a fresh trailer drop for its upcoming installment, Teen Titans: Beast Boy Loves Raven.
The quick video flashes Gabriel Picolo’s art within its frames while playing voiceovers of the titular characters, Raven Roth and Garfield Logan. The narration sets up the book’s plot and key location — Nashville — while having its pair of leads speak for themselves to the audience. The two cross paths on each’s way to meet Slade Wilson, striking up a conversation and beginning their romantic journey.
“I’ve got two days to kill before I meet this guy, Slade,” states Garfield “Beast Boy” Logan in the trailer. “He’s got to show me how to control this changing-into-animals thing.” The calls of bears, monkeys and big cats populate the soundtrack, alluding to his lycanthropic tendencies. Raven picks up the story, revealing, “My demon father is trapped in my necklace. I’m in Nashville to find out how to get rid of him.”
Taken in by a priest to be hidden from Trigon, her father, Raven was raised in foster care, where she was exposed to voodoo. With the spiritual help of her past relatives, she managed to imprison Trigon in an amulet. Her mission to find Slade Wilson seeks to bring closure to the past she shares with her father, yet a romance with Garfield Logan appears to be looming just as heavily for her.
Written by New York Times best-selling author Kami Garcia (Beautiful Creatures) and drawn by artist Gabriel Picolo, the graphic novel was previously announced in August 2020. It will be the third installment in DC’s line of Teen Titans graphic novels, which first began with Teen Titans: Raven, followed by Teen Titans: Beast Boy, also written and drawn by Garcia and Picolo.
Written by Garcia with artwork by Picolo, Teen Titans: Beast Boy Loves Raven is currently available for pre-order. It hits shelves on Sept. 28.
