DC announces Voidsong, DC Mech, Diana and Nubia at ComicsPRO

[ad_1]

As noted, the annual retailer meeting ComicPRO is underway with lots of news and presentations by publishers. DC sent out a mailer with some art and descriptions of their new titles, including the big news that Chip Zdarsky and Jorge Jimenéz are taking over The Batman for a story arc. You can read all about that here, but some other titles were given fanfare – including another middle grade Wonder Woman tale by bestselling authors Shannon and Dean Hale and Victoria Ying. Comics are for everyone after all. Also DC giant robots – oh yeah! – and a new adventure for Aquaman and The Flash, maybe picking up where [SPOILER] left off.

Here’s the pr and art:

AQUAMAN & THE FLASH: VOIDSONG:
Two Heroes, On Their Own and Forced to Save the Earth!

They descend suddenly from the stars, in monumental ships like floating cathedrals. They are touched by a dark and terrible force from beyond our reality, silent but for the one note they emit that freezes all motion. Their mission: to drain the Earth of all its kinetic energy and leave it a lifeless husk! AQUAMAN & THE FLASH: VOIDSONG by Collin Kelley & Jackson Lanzing (Green Arrow, Batman Beyond: Neo-Year), Vasco Georgiev (Batman: Urban Legends) and Rain Beredo will be published as a three-issue mini-series in June, July and August before being collected in paperback in October!

In the 56-page debut issue, they never expected anyone could escape their song—but the Flash was in the Speed Force when they struck, and Aquaman was in the deepest ravine far below the ocean’s floor. These heroes have little in common. They’ve rarely even fought side by side without their fellow Justice League members. Now they must find a way to work together against impossible odds to save the world and the people they love!

New three-issue mini-series AQUAMAN & THE FLASH: VOIDSONG by Collin Kelley, Jackson Lanzing, Vasco Georgiev and Rain Beredo, with covers by Jay Anacleto (main) and Georgiev (open to order variant), launches on June 21!

DC MECH:
Justice Gets an Upgrade!

As announced in IGN, DC is launching DC MECH, an incredible melding of the DC Universe and mecha anime.

At the end of World War II, Earth was invaded by giant mechanized Parademons from a planet called APOKOLIPS. The planet’s protectors, the Justice Society of America, were devastated and with them, the age of Super Heroes came to an end, and the era of the Mech began.

In the ensuing years, the world has stockpiled colossal battle suits piloted by elite warriors, waiting for the day Apokolips returns. But when Kal-El, the last son of a dying world, crash lands in Metropolis with his own warsuit, he’ll face down two of earth’s greatest Mech fighters, The Flash and Batman.

Diana and Nubia: Princesses of the Amazons
Diana Princess of the Amazons was only the beginning!

And on November 8th writers Shannon and Dean Hale and artist Victoria Ying return to Themyscira with a new middle grade story–Diana and Nubia: Princesses of the Amazons.

The follow up to hit Diana, Princess of the Amazons introduces Princess Nubia. Nubia loves her mothers, their home on Themyscira, and all of her Amazon aunties. But she’s still lonely sometimes. It’s hard being the only kid on an island full of adults! She just wishes that things could be different.

And then, one morning, things are different. There’s a stranger sharing her bedroom…and the interloper Diana insists that it’s her room! And their parents think they’re both just being pests, they’ve always shared a room. What is happening?!

This fun story explores the trials and joys of siblings, with an exciting Super Hero twist!
