Daredevil and Boardwalk Empire alum Charlie Cox stars in an official trailer for Kin, AMC+’s upcoming Irish gang drama.
AMC+ has released an official trailer for its upcoming Irish gang drama Kin, which stars none other than Daredevil alum Charlie Cox.
The London-born actor who starred as Marvel’s Man Without Fear on Netflix is certainly no stranger to playing an Irishman, having also appeared on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire as Owen Sleater. Of course, Cox isn’t alone on Kin, with the AMC+ series also starring Clare Dunne, Aidan Gillen, Ciarán Hinds, Sam Keeley, Emmett J. Scanlan, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Hannah Adeogun and Yasmin Seky.
Set to premiere on AMC+ on Sept. 9, Kin comes from the producers of Judas and the Black Messiah and Fences. Peter McKenna (The Last Kingdom, Red Rock) and Ciarán Donnelly (Altered Carbon, Vikings) serve as co-creators, with McKenna also serving as showrunner. Shot in Dublin, Ireland, the eight-part series centers on “a small but tight-knit crime family embroiled in a war against a powerful drug kingpin” — a war ignited by “a murder in a family where loyalty is paramount.”
“A boy is killed and his family embark on a gangland war with an international cartel — a war that is impossible to win,” the official synopsis for Kin reads. “It’s David and Goliath. Out-numbered, out-financed and out-gunned, the Kinsellas find themselves holed up in their Dublin stronghold while their businesses fail, and family members and associates are picked off. But they have something the cartel does not: the unbreakable bonds of blood and family. Kin is a world where gangsters are treated like reality stars, with nicknames and celebrity status, where assassins dress up as women, and drug dealers keep exotic pets in their den. A world of drugs and guns and murder and loyalty and family and men… and a woman.”
Kin premieres Sept. 9 on AMC+.
