One of the games we’ve had an eye on for a while now is a game that we don’t know anything about. Japanese studio Grezzo, known for their remakes of Majora’s Mask, Ocarina of Time, and Link’s Awakening, are working on something new and very secretive — the only information we currently have is that it’s “medieval” and “stylish”, which doesn’t give us much to go on.
It seems like they updated their careers site in April, though, with two new roles: A “battle planner” and a designer. From these two job descriptions, we can find out a little bit more about the game (note: translations are from Google Translate, so take them with a pinch of salt):
- “The expression is not photoreal, but a “design” of real elements”
- It’s being made in Unity
- It’s a 3D game
- It’s an action game
- There will be bosses
- There will be combat
We also have this header image, which could be concept art:
So far, it sounds a lot like… a video game.
But we still do have some more vague clues to go on. Although Grezzo’s past work has largely been as an out-of-house Nintendo remake specialist, perhaps their most well-known original game is Ever Oasis, an action-adventure RPG for the 3DS. Grezzo CEO Koichi Ishii was also the creator of the Mana series of games, as well as having various roles on many of the early Final Fantasy games — so it seems likely that Grezzo is heading back into the action-adventure RPG genre, since that’s what they do best.
What do you think the game will be? What would you like it to be? Tell us in the comments!
