Comic Book Artist Ryan Stegman Draws My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission Original Art Piece – Interest

Funimation began screening film in U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland on October 29; Australia, New Zealand on October 28

American comic book artist Ryan Stegman, best known for his work on She-Hulk, X-23, Spider-Man, and Venom, drew an original art piece for the My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes’ Mission anime film. Funimation, which is screening the film in the United States, commissioned the piece.

Stegman commented: “I’m a long time manga fan and My Hero Academia came onto my radar a few years back. Since then my kids and I have been obsessed and it’s an honor to get to work on the characters!”

Stegman will hold a live drawing of Deku on the StegmanAndFriends YouTube channel and ryanstegman Twitch channel along with an interactive fan Q&A on Saturday at 4PM GMT. In addition, Funimation is holding a giveaway for an original pencil version of the artwork.

My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes’ Mission began screening in over 1,500 theaters in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland on October 29, and in Australia and New Zealand on October 28. The film will also screen in Latin America in Spanish and Portuguese.

The film debuted at #4 in its opening weekend in the United States, earning about US$6,403,286. It debuted at #2 in the U.S. on its opening day last Friday, earning an estimated US$2,882,381 in 1,602 theaters.
